Mahila Panchayat of Nav Srishti Foundation is a group of domestic workers representatives who work for the betterment of communities in Nangloi, New Delhi. They work on different causes like sexual harassment, missing cases, gender based violence and child abuse. These ladies are available for their communities twenty-four hours of the day and report the cases to Nav Srishti Foundation who then takes them forward to the right authorities.
Martha Farrell Foundation recently sensitized Mahila Panchayat through a training session on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013 which was attended by 30 members. The training was conducted by Ms. Himani Singh and Ms. Surbhi Kumar, where they used participatory methodology to conduct the sessions.
Major areas that were covered during the training session are:

●What are its forms
●Understanding the true definition of workplace
●What to do when you see sexual harassment happening in the purview of your workplace
●Who is the right authority to take guidance from or report to in case of harassment?
The session created awareness on the issue of sexual harassment, importance of creating safe working spaces and knowledge about Local Complaint Committee.
