Martha Farrell Foundation conducted a workshop on National Labour Standards and Promotion of Gender Equality at Workplace at VV Giri National Labour Institute, Greater Noida. The training program was delivered by Ms. Nandita Pradhan Bhatt, Director Martha Farrell Foundation. The session was attended by 25 participants from 14 different countries with professional backgrounds on human resource management, law, education, gender commissions, government institutions, media etc.

The main areas that we focused upon in this workshop were:

What exactly is sexual harassment?
What is the impact of sexual harassment?
What are the steps that should be taken if misconduct has happened?
What exactly is a workplace?
Realistic planning and implementation of Sexual Harassment Policies

The session helped the participants in understanding how inequalities and unjust behavior can actually create a hostile environment at workplace and how should they be building a safe and conducive one. Ms. Nandita also discussed the provision of Law in regards to formal and informal workplace and how law extends to both.
