Youth group in Baba Ramdev Basti in Jaipur organised a community level event as part of the ongoing programme, Kadam Badhate Chalo (KBC), on December 2, 2016. The Martha Farrell Foundation (MFF), The Society for Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA), The Asia Foundation along with Vishakha and Action Aid supported the Youth group in organising this programme.
KBC is an ongoing youth-led programme run by Martha Farrell Foundation (MFF) and the Society for Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA) to end violence against girls and women that helps support and develop youth leadership among both boys and girls, providing them with tools of change which they can use to meet collective goals.
The aim was to sensitise and create awareness among the inhabitants about violence against women, to have the community be more participative in the effort that their Youth group were making, and to share the findings of the Participatory Safety Audit (PSA) that the Youth group had done in identifying safe and unsafe places. Women, men and children participated in large numbers.
