Kadam Badhate Chalo (KBC) Sports Camp
The Freedom to Play sports camp is the very first module to be delivered to the youth within the Kadam Badhate Chalo (KBC) framework. This is a half-day activity which is delivered to about 50 youth, including both girls and boys. The youth that participate in these sports camps thereafter self-nominate themselves for being part of the core youth group of KBC, by answering a set of questions. These self-nominations are then scrutinized by the KBC team, and the youth showing most interest and potential are selected to take the KBC program forward.
As the title suggests, the sports camp provides the youth groups with the opportunity to participate in sport, engage with peers and express themselves through the activities. It helps youth to learn about working together as a team, the hesitation between girls and boys is reduced, youth understand the importance of communicating with one another and youth take up leadership roles within the activities.
