After the launch of the program, a sports camp was held on 18 - 20 January 2016 for the youth in Najafgarh, in collaboration with ProSports Development. Twenty-seven girls and twelve boys participated in several activities including hand hockey, continuous cricket captains, dragon’s tail, blindfold course, rugby bulldog, volleyball tennis, beat the ball, etc. The youth were encouraged to learn teamwork, communication and leadership through these games.
In the Q&A sessions, all participants expressed they had thoroughly enjoyed themselves, while also learning in the process. The girls in particular were very enthusiastic.
“Aaj khel kar josh aa gaya,” said one girl. (I feel energised after today’s session.)
“Aaj ki activities se hamne seekha ki ekta me bal hai,” her friend said. (From these activities we learnt that strength comes from unity.)
Do come back, they told us, as we left. We want to play and learn some more!
