The Foundation is registered in India under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013.

It has received 12A and 80G certificates of the Indian Income Tax Act. The Foundation has also applied for regulatory approvals to receive donations and grants towards its activities under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).

The Foundation has set up international tax effective mechanism to receive donations from Martha’s family, friends, well-wishers and supporters from around the world.

In its initial phase, the Martha Farrell Foundation is supported by Society for Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA) in the following manner:

Act as a host for the Foundation in PRIA and provide logistical support.

Act as host to receive the donations and contributions made to the Foundation till its regulatory approvals are secured.

Disburse funds towards activities of the Foundation as per the recommendations of the Foundation’s Board.

Make a donation towards the Foundation’s corpus endowment.

Society for Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA) is a registered non-profit civil society organisation in India under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. It was founded on February 6, 1982. Dr. Martha Farrell was a Director at PRIA.
